Alethia Sentiment Analysis Application
Aletheia is a sentiment analysis application that links data in Power BI to Microsoft’s Azure Cognitive Services. It demonstrates some advanced techniques available in the Power BI platform.
Scenario: Peachtree is a fictitious market research firm that’s been tasked by the Motion Picture Association of America to do movie surveys around the greater Atlanta area. They have contracted Emory University to develop an application to do sentiment analysis in an effort to modernize their data collection efforts. Aletheia is a development platform that, if successful, will become a mobile app/web-based system to collect data. Peachtree has further tasked Emory with determining how accurate their Market Research Analyst staff is when doing manual data collection.

Horizons Sales Analysis Report
Horizon connects data from a local SQL database server to the Power BI service via an on-premises Power BI gateway. The dataset in use is the large Microsoft Adventure Works SQL sample. To optimize performance and control resource consumption, incremental refresh has been implemented for daily updates. Future iterations of the database will incorporate synthetic data generated by AI, addressing the limitations of the current static dataset. Additionally, alternative data ingestion methods including Direct Query and Hybrid approaches will be evaluated for performance and scalability.

Jupiter Storm Analysis Report
Jupiter Storm Analysis Report is an ongoing initiative aimed at analyzing hurricane activity in the United States since the year 2000. The report tracks storms by name, date, intensity, and associated damages, among other key metrics. This project remains a work in progress as additional data points continue to be gathered and integrated.

North GA Outdoor Adventure Forecasting AI is a fictional travel destination designed to showcase how AI-powered analytics in Power BI can drive business insights. This project leverages advanced AI features like forecasting, anomaly detection, key performance indicators, decomposition trees, and Q&A to analyze trends, predict future growth, and uncover hidden patterns in the data. By identifying anomalies and breaking down key metrics, the goal is to explore strategic opportunities that could help a real-world travel destination optimize its offerings and expand its reach.

My Power BI portfolio showcases a range of dynamic and interactive reporting solutions designed to enhance data visualization and user experience. Leveraging interactive elements such as slicers, buttons, and page navigation, my reports allow users to seamlessly filter and explore data. I have implemented advanced visuals, including interactive maps, KPI indicators, and line charts, to provide deeper insights and highlight key performance trends. Additionally, my use of pie and donut charts ensures effective categorical comparisons, making complex data more digestible. Each report is designed with usability and storytelling in mind, enabling decision-makers to interact with data in a meaningful and intuitive way.
